Amanda Nisbet Joins Globe Style Saturday Series at IDS17

Amanda Nisbet Design has added her signature elegant touch to residences in North America and Europe since the firm’s inception in 1998, resulting in welcoming interiors that express Nisbet’s special alchemy of refinement and livability.

Despite her formal art history training and years at Christie’s auction house, Nisbet prefers to upend the usual design rules, in favor of a fresh, energetic approach that draws as much upon intuition as tradition. Mixing function and style, classical motifs and contemporary idioms, in rich and unexpected ways, Nisbet never loses her sense of wit and whimsy. According to Nisbet, a designer’s role is to create a home for living that answers a client’s needs, wishes, and dreams.

In addition to her interior design work, Nisbet’s eponymous textile line is available to the trade through four showrooms: Studio Four (New York), Harbinger (Los Angeles), Travis (Atlanta), and Tigger Hall (Australia). The success of Nisbet’s textile line sparked its expansion to a line exquisite wallcoverings, which are also carried by Studio Four, Harbinger, Travis and Company, and Trigger Hall. The unique character of Nisbet’s designs is reflected in her lighting collection, created in partnership with The Urban Electric Company. A boutique rug line, sold exclusively through Studio Four, is the result of the collaboration between the creative minds of Nisbet and Kyle Bunting. In 2014, Amanda launched her first comprehensive furniture and lighting collection in partnership with Niermann Weeks. The popularity of this collection inspired a sequential collaboration, between Nisbet, Niermann Weeks, and One King’s Lane.

AND projects have been showcased in numerous publications, among them Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Coastal Living, New York Spaces, Oprah at Home, Traditional Home, Veranda, The New York Times, Town & Country, and The Washington Post. Nisbet remains a frequent and popular speaker about design, in general, and AND’s work in particular. Her first book, Dazzling Design, was published by Stewart Tabori & Chang in 2012.

In 2017, Amanda Nisbet Design looks forward to expanding into the realm of e-commerce and continuing to create spaces of luxury and livability.

Amanda Nisbet’s talk on Globe Style Saturday is IDCEC accredited for members of the trade.
