Designer to Rock Royalty and Aristocracy, Nicholas Haslam, Joins IDS17 Globe Style Saturday Lineup
One of the world’s finest interior designers, sought by royalty, rock stars and the aristocracy alike, Nicholas Haslam presents his style in this unique tour of his grand, glamorous, and witty interiors.
Nicholas Haslam has an instinct and originality which enables him to make rooms look stunning and sexy, yet liveable, practical, and above all flattering to their owner and their surroundings. Never one for pure minimalism nor for overblown fussiness, a Haslam interior has exhilarating chic, and a touch of opulence that seduces entirely the moment you catch a glimpse.
His firm, NH Design, has designed for clients including Mr Rod Stewart, Sir Mick Jagger, Mr Ringo Starr, Mr & Mrs Konstantin Kagalovsky, Mr & Mrs Peter Aven and Miss Natalie Wood. He has also designed parties for The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace, Lord Sainsbury, Sir Evelyn & Lady de Rothschild, The National Gallery, Kensington Palace and The Royal Palace in Prague and restorations to listed Grade II stately homes.
Constantly breaking down boundaries, Haslam loves to use the completely unexpected and is renowned for his new effects – stunning silver and gilded walls, linen carpets, sparkling mica ceilings, cut antique leather and Picasso-inspired fabric footstools as well as his couture-like curtains. The mix of the deeply serious, grand and impressive with glamour, charm and above all wit, is the Haslam trademark.
Nicky Haslam Studio operates worldwide, having recently completed projects in New Orleans, Barbados, Klosters, and several English country houses, while currently working on sites in Moscow, South of France, Marrakech, New York, London and the country.
