On behalf of the IDS Team, we would like to thank you for celebrating 20 years at the leading edge of design. To our exhibitors and sponsors over the years, your commitment has been pivotal in shaping what IDS is today. In response to the incredible growth and change the design industry is undergoing, IDS is expanding and evolving our current offering to include IDS Contract, a hyper-curated exposition and conference focused on all verticals of design, including workplace, healthcare, hospitality, retail education, public space and government. This exciting 2.5 day addition to IDS will be dedicated to B2B trade-only professionals and will complement the main exhibit hall which will continue to service both trade and public for 3.5 days.

One of North America’s top design shows, IDS, offers unparalleled access to the future’s best international and Canadian design. IDS caters to both trade professionals and consumers. IDS is held annually for 3.5 days during the third week of January in Toronto, Canada. The event takes place in the heart of downtown Toronto, home to the third largest design workforce in North America. Since 1999, IDS has brought the world’s most creative design minds to Canada, connecting design-driven businesses with over 53,000 professionals, consumers and members of the media. Regarded as a pillar of the Canadian design community, IDS is the catalyst for millions of dollars spent on design each year and is the leading Canadian platform for many international and local brands to launch new products for the year.

IDS will be made up of booths ranging in size from 50 sq. ft. to 2000+ sq. ft. All space is RAW with the exception of spaces that are 100 sq. ft. or less; these spaces include 10′ high hard walls.

IDS Contract.

Jan 17-18, 2019 – Toronto Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building, Halls F & G

A two-day immersive event that will transform your business, IDS Contract is a highly curated exposition and conference dedicated to the design, architectural and building sectors. Adjacent to IDS, IDS Contract is modelled around a continued commitment to showcasing original design, thought leadership, aspirational installations and the best in programming content. IDS Contract offers an unparalleled opportunity for the more than 23,000 designers, architects, purchasing executives, builders, developers, owners and operations and property facility managers with the best in Canadian and international design.

IDS Contract will focus on all verticals of design including workplace, healthcare, hospitality, retail, education, public space and government. IDS Contract will only be open to the trade; however it will welcome all Opening Night Party attendees. IDS Contract will include a robust conference program, including roundtables, master classes, seminars, tours and keynotes.

IDS Contract will be largely comprised of turnkey exhibits, which include:

• 10′ high hard walls
• Electricity (1500 watt/110 volt)
• Floorcovering
• Lighting
• Standardized booth signage
• Larger raw spaces will also be available (limited)

Is IDS Contract for you? IDS Contract is for exhibitors who wish to meet trade only and to work across one of the verticals listed above. The show floor will be curated.

Floor plan
IDS will be working with an architect or design firm, to be announced in the coming weeks, to redesign the floor plan. The new floor plan will be sent out to those who apply and are accepted with booth space options after March 5th.

The Studio North and Prototype sections are promoted as one of the highlights of IDS. They are hosted in a gallery-like space on the show floor, presenting independent design at its best.

What is Studio North? The marketplace to showcase your custom work and limited-edition collection to the design industry, media and a discerning design audience. Over 65 Canadian and international designers of the highest calibre present one-off and custom collections of furniture, lighting, glass, ceramics, textiles and surface design in a gallery-like setting.

Prototype is a platform within Studio North, featuring products not currently in production and addressing new ideas for the residential market. Past prototypes have featured both to-market and conceptual works.
